A Legacy Revived

Established as one of the world's most lucrative art prizes, the Hadley's Art Prize boasts an annual award of $100,000, honoring the best portrayal of the Australian landscape. Dating back to the 1800s, Hadley's Orient Hotel's affinity for art has culminated in a contemporary celebration of excellence in landscape art, reminiscent of early landlord Howard Hadley's triumph in 1895.

Celebrating Diversity in Art

Every year, artists from across Australia, from bustling cities to remote communities, flock to compete for the coveted prize. Judged by a panel of art specialist judges, the prize recognizes creativity, technical skill, and the unique story behind each artwork. With additional awards such as Honourable Mentions, a Packing Room Prize, a one-month Residency Prize, and a People’s Choice Award, the Hadley's Art Prize is a platform for artists of all backgrounds and career stages.
